CUMBRIA Police have issued a plea to the public, asking them to take their daily hour of exercise near to their home during social distancing measures.
In a statement on the Cumbria Police Facebook page they said that the public should take daily exercise near to their address whilst social distancing measures are in place: “Daily exercise should not include travelling to a different area than that in which you live.
“Travel should be for essential purposes, for example, collecting essential medicines, supplies or travelling to a place of work if you are unable to work from home.”
They added that these activities should only be done with people from your own household.
“You should not be travelling to the lakes or your lovely sights in Cumbria to simply exercise,” they said.
Cumbria Police added that an hour of exercise should be done alone and near to your address to comply with government guidelines.
