Egremont Youth Partnership would like to reassure young people in Egremont that they are still available for them.

Due to government guidelines restricting gatherings of more than two people, their centre is now closed to the public for face-to-face contact and they can no longer do detached work.

However, James Bowden and Tracy McFadden, will be communicating through technology to answer any questions that young people have or to help them with their worries.

This will mainly be done through their Facebook page thethe core, the Egremont youth partnership Facebook page and by Facebook messenger.

James Bowden said: “We are opting to use digital methods of informing our young people and keeping in contact with them.”

“Egremont Youth partnership is reassuring all young people that we are still here to listen and offers to continue to communicate to young people through the centres Facebook page.

“The partnership will continue to keep all of its young people updated on a regular basis and will aim to continue maintain our work with young people as much as possible whilst ensuring that we keep all young people and staff safe.”

Egremont Youth Partnership is a small youth centre in Egremont, first established in February 2012. On average the centre engages with over 85 different young people per week at five different youth clubs. Provision usually includes junior youth club for 8 to 12 year olds and senior youth club for 13 to 19 year olds on Tuesdays. Junior fusion club for 11 to 16-year-olds and senior fusion club for16 to 30s on Thursdays and on Fridays there is normally a senior youth club, age 13 to 19, giving them a social space to hang out. James said the centre has worked hard to support young people and listen to the issues which they have and to tackle anti social behaviour.

Over the past 12 months the centre has worked hard with a smaller group of young people from Egremont to support them in working towards an ASDAN award, this involved a great deal of commitment from these young people and eight have successfully completed their awards.
