The Met Office has issued a weather warning for tomorrow across Cumbria, with heavy rain and snow being forecast.

The warning will come into force at 2am tomorrow morning, and be in place until 3pm.

All of Cumbria is covered by the warning, which also extends into southern Scotland and across much of the north of England.

A spokesman for the Met Office said that as a result of tomorrow's forecast weather, "some rural communities could become cut off."

The spokesman added that there will be: "Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers, with possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.

"Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures."
