A man in his 30s has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries in connection with an attempted sexual assault on a woman in Corsham last month.

A woman in her 30s was assaulted at around 10.30pm on January 15 as she was walking along Park Lane in Corsham on her way home.

Police later issued an e-fit of a man they wanted to identify and question in relation to the offence.

A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "A witness appeal as well as an e-fit of a man we wanted to speak to in connection with the incident were later released as part of our investigation and our enquiries have been continuing.

"This morning, as part of our enquiries, a man aged in his 30s from Corsham was arrested on suspicion of attempted sexual assault.

"He remains in custody in Melksham for further questioning."

Officers continue to urge anyone with information in relation to the incident to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200005087.
