FURNESS Academy scored ‘below average’ based on progress made by pupils between ages 11 and 16.
The Park Drive academy’s 83 pupils included in the measure scored an average of 2.89 in the English Baccalaureate, which generates an average score across all subjects.
The average in Cumbria was 3.97 while the average for England was 4.07.
Some 24 per cent of pupils scored a 5 or above in English and maths GCSE compared to a Cumbria average of 41 per cent and average across England of 43 per cent.
Out of the 2017 school leavers 94 per cent went on to further education or entered employment which is in line with the average in England.
The below average school places Furness Academy with around 20 per cent of schools in England.
