A leading supermarket is looking to extend one of its stores to expand its range.
Aldi in Workington has been granted planning permission by Allerdale Borough Council to extend the front of the store, move the entrance and change the car park.
The company says it hopes to move the entrance to the south-west corner of the building.
And the mother and toddler and disabled car parking bays will also all move to the front of the store.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We’re looking to extend the Aldi store in Workington, if successful it will undergo refurbishment ensuring more space for fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges as well as simpler layouts and brighter, wider aisles.
“We will keep the community updated on developments.”
