WhatsApp nuisance slapped with fine
A man has appeared in court after admitting a course of harassment through WhatsApp messages and telephone calls.
Laine William Atkinson, 30, of Wythburn Road, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to harassing Barry James Robert Cass before West Cumbria Magistrates Court.
The court heard Atkinson harassed Mr Cass by making numerous telephone calls and sending WhatsApp messages on July 3 last year.
Atkinson has been fined £140, and must pay £100 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
