A DANCE group have raised vital funds for a Parkinson’s charity, raising funds at their regular meetings.

Star Stompers Line Dancing which holds classes in Whitehaven and Parton raised £380 for Parkinson’s West Cumbria with raffles at their regular classes and their Christmas social.

It was a cause close to their hearts. Dance teacher Harold Starkey said: “We know a couple of people with the condition.”

“We are always raising funds for different causes.” In July 2019 the charity raised £160 for Alzheimer's Research UK.

The group has been running for 22 years under the guidance of founder Mr Starkey.

And some of the dancers have been with the group since the beginning.
