A MOTHER'S union group have once again been successful in applying for a grant to provide new toys for the family and visitors area at Haverigg Prison.
Carlisle Diocese Mother's Union made the application for £500 to The Entertainer Shop.
The toys were donated to the group by the store in Carlisle city centre.
The group had a lot of fun choosing the toys, under guidance of Heather Thorn, manager of the visitors and children's support group at the prison.
Daphne Sisson, action and outreach coordinator for the Mother's Union, said: "We managed to choose toys up to the value of £499.83.
"No doubt children would not have found this difficult."
The toys were then handed over to Heather to take back to Haverigg Prison.
Daphne will be meeting up with Heather at the visitors and family centre in February to see how the toys will be used and appreciated.
