The popular musical Annie is being staged by the Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society in March.
The musical will be performed at the Whitehaven Civic Hall from Tuesday, March 24 to Saturday, March 28, and will include a matinee on the Saturday afternoon.
Annie will be played by 11-year-old Neve Finn, who took part in the society’s production of The Sound of Music as one of the children, Brigitta. This will be her first major role.
A dog has been found for the role of Sandy. Tia is owned by Kelly Gribbin, who owns the Castle Knights pub and restaurant.
Miss Hannigan is being played by Laura Matzk in her first leading role. Daddy Warbucks is being played by Gary Foley who is a veteran within local theatre. He is commuting from Manchester for rehearsals.
Rooster is being played by Stuart Evans. He played the leading role of Fagin in the society’s production of Oliver! Choreographer Tracy McQuat is in the role of Lily.
