It's time to lace up your dusty old walking boots and take a hike for the North West Air Ambulance.

The lifesaving charity is urging everyone from speed walkers to couch potatoes to take part in their Keswick to Barrow Walk to raise funds and support its vital work.

The K2B is set to take place on May 2, with those taking part encouraged to form groups of between four and 12 people to take on the challenge.

Spanning 40 miles, the lengthy route is designed to test walkers of all abilities, with a short 21.2 mile Coniston to Barrow route offered for those who aren't feeling quite ambitious enough for the full hefty hike.

2019 saw NWAA crews attend 2,355 missions across the North West, providing lifesaving pre-hospital care and transfers to patients in their moment of need.

And as it receives no government funding, NWAA relies entirely on generous donations to fund its missions.
