Two newly-signed Haven players could be in line for a baptism of fire in chocolate, blue and gold today in the pre-season derby clash with Workington Town.

Former Town star Brett Carter and ex-Wath Brow Hornet Karl Dixon are both named in coach Gary Charlton's 21 man squad ahead of this afternoon's fixture.

The game, which kicks off at 2pm is the annual clash between the two sides for the Ike Southward Memorial Trophy, played in memory of the late, great player who had links to both clubs.

Charlton is hoping to take back the trophy from Town who won it last year at Derwent Park.

But this time the fixture is back at The Recreation Ground, with a 2pm kick off and both clubs are hoping for another bumper four-figure crowd, like the 2,360 that headed to Whitehaven last August and watched a thrilling draw between the teams in the league.

Another former Town star Karl Olstrom, who has recently signed back for another spell with Haven, is also in the squad.

Haven squad: Dion Aiye, Jake Bradley, Andrew Bulman, Brett Carter, Kris Coward, Karl Dixon, Sam Forrester, Ellis Gillam, Ethan Kelly, Jake Moore, Jason Mossop, James Newton, Karl Olstrom, Brett Phillips, Callum Phillips, Glenn Riley Marc Shackley, Chris Taylor, Dave Thompson, Tom Walker, Tom Wilkinson.
