Tinned goods are needed to create a robot - and will be donated to a food bank once the sculpture's created.

Apprentices at Energus, in Lillyhall, are working with a team of Year 6 pupils for National Apprentice Week, creating the sculpture to match the theme of "Look Beyond".

Youngsters of Beckstone Primary School, Harrington, are excited to be involved, and all on-board are keeping for their fingers crossed for an impressive bounty of offerings.

Any tinned or dried food will do, from veg and meat to fruit and sauces - anything is welcome, and will be donated to the North Lakes Food Bank once the group have created their piece.

The team are accepting donations until January 31, which can be left in the drop-box provided at Energus reception.
