Binmen in Copeland are working an extra shift tomorrow to make sure all rubbish is picked up in the area.
A council spokesman admitted some collections had been missed this week due to the volume of waster over the Christmas period.
A statement said: "Due to the volume of waste and recycling generated over the festive period, we have been unable to complete a small number of collections yesterday and today.
"Colleagues will be working on Saturday to cover the missed collections."
- If your recycling was missed in the St Bees area yesterday (Thursday), it will be collected tomorrow (Saturday)
- If your recycling was missed in the Red Lonning/Hillcrest area of Whitehaven today (Friday), it will be collected tomorrow (Saturday)
- If your refuse was missed in the Richmond area of Whitehaven today (Friday), it will be collected tomorrow (Saturday)
The spokesman added: "Our waste operatives will be starting their rounds early tomorrow morning so please leave your bins out overnight (or put them out by 6am).
"We'd like to publicly thank our waste team for working so hard at this busy time of year."
