A man has been banned from going within 20 metres of a West Cumbrian pub after being found guilty of threatening or abusive behaviour.

Corey Anthony Williams, 19, of Station Road, Workington, pleaded not guilty to the charge before West Cumbria Magistrates Court.

But he was found guilty by magistrates on Wednesday.

The court heard that on November 18 last year, at Cleator Moor, Williams used towards others threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Magistrates handed Williams a restraining order, banning him from contacting five people and from going within 20 metres of Moffats Public House, in Cleator Moor, except when travelling past in a motor vehicle.

He must also carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, pay costs of £620 and a £90 victim surcharge.
