Families who would struggle with the cost of school proms have been prom-ised help.
PROMise It Forward is a group that was set us by Cumbria County Council's Family Focus Officer Suzannah Gregson.
She has been joined by retired police officer Liz Hampson and a former colleague, Shirley Murray who have been collecting everything any student would need to attend. This includes prom dresses, suits, shoes, bags and even tiaras.
Lakes College at Lillyhall has been involved as a midway venue for collection and administration officer Helen Branthwaite has also organised hair and make-up advice from students studying those subjects.
"Everyone has been so generous," Mrs Hampson said.
Application forms are available through all secondary schools in the area.
