HOW THEY MET: Natalie and Scott met in Year 7 at Appleby Grammar School aged 11. Their friendship blossomed throughout school and finally, 16 long years later, Natalie agreed to be Scott’s girlfriend.

PROPOSAL: Scott chose Christmas morning to deliver Natalie the best present she could have wanted and, rather true to form, Natalie slightly spoiled his planned surprise. Scott sneaked downstairs to tie the diamond ring around their dog Bailey. Unfortunately he had not been as quiet as he hoped, and Natalie came down to find him mid ribbon-cut and assumed he’d been rather tardy with wrapping her Christmas presents – needless to say the proposal got quickly fast forwarded!

VENUE: Portugal.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Stella York design from Ava Rose Hamilton in Colne worn with a veil. Her headband was borrowed from her older sister Joanna who had worn it on her wedding day.

HAIR & BEAUTY: Trish Holme did the bride’s hair; Rachel Jackson did the bridesmaid’s hair and Katie Lamb did the bride’s make-up.

GROOMSMEN: Tom Dodgson was best man. Thomas Sayer, Ryan Birkbeck, Steven Codd and Nathan Collin were ushers.

BRIDESMAIDS: Emma Sayer, Lydia Jackson, Amy Haworth, Fran Greenhow and Jennifer Bowman were bridesmaids and Pippa and Annie Armstrong were flower girls.

RECEPTION: 158 guests attended an outdoor wedding ceremony followed by a drinks reception and Portuguese-style buffet. There was then outdoor dancing to live band Squeeze Box (the couple’s favourite local Cumbrian band), speeches and a four-course evening meal. The cutting of the cake took place to a violinist playing No Place I’d Rather Be by Jesse Glynne.

FAVOURS: A free bar.

FIRST DANCE: Ho Hey by The Lumineers, played by Squeeze Box.
