Flood warnings are still in place- meaning flooding is expected and immediate action is required -for parts of Carlisle.
It is currently in force for the river Eden, Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses in the city.
A spokesman from the Environment Agency said: "River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge. We forecast that the level at Linstock will peak at 3.4m at approximately 2.45am this morning.
"Areas affected will be low lying roads, car parks, public spaces and recreational facilities at Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. The heavy rainfall has now passed over Cumbria, with only scattered showers expected."
