Motorists travelling on the M6 are warned to expect delays due to a car fire and speed restrictions.
Strong winds between J38 (Tebay) and J39 (Shap) and between J44 (Carlisle north) and J45 (Gretna) means that a 50mph speed limit is now in place.
For drivers travelling back into the county, there is also two lanes closed on the M6 northbound at J33 (Lancaster south), which is resulting in queuing traffic.
Congestion is said to be building on the approach.
