Whitehaven Theatre Group promises the pantomime works which will leave audiences anything but cold in their seasonal production of Frosted.

A spokesman for the group said there may be a familiarity with the storyline, "given the panto's affinity to a certain children's film with a vaguely similar title", but said it has been packed with gags, new characters and is something totally new for the audience to enjoy.

"They won't be able to let it go until the lights dim after the curtain calls at the end", she added.

Millie Lynch takes the part of young Ella, with Louisa Fitwilliam as her sister young Hannah. Becky Hardman and Scarlett Todhunter play the Princesses Ella and Hannah. Other cast members include Simon Armstrong as Kristian, James Ridehalgh as Prince Anders and Stuart Buchanan will take on Dame Florrie with Louise Morton as Duke Wesley Frosty.

The story tells the tale of two Princesses as one struggles to come to terms with the magical powers she has been given. Can they survive the snowstorm? Will they ever find true love? Or will their kingdom be taken over by a wicked Prince?

This new show has been written by Warren McWilliams and promises to warm the hearts of children of all ages and adults alike.

Director Shaun Donald said Frosted has the potential to be one of the biggest pantomime productions they have ever staged. He said: "Myself, along with my fellow production team members, who are exceptional in their own right, have plans for creating a magical Christmas pantomime that appeals to people of all ages."

He said it has been a challenge, as it is a relatively new pantomime, and with it closely following a well-known story, they know they have to be sure to give the audience what they would expect, which he believes they do.

Shaun said: "I can honestly say the level of talent in the production is exceptional. We are very lucky to have such talented people in our area, which will do the show justice."

The show takes place at Egremont Market Hall from December 10 to 15, with tickets £8 to £10 available from their website at www.whitehaventheatregroup.com or by telephone 07588051942 or by emailing info@whitehaventheatregroup.com
