An artist from St Bees will hold an open studio display.

Sarah Taylor, who specialises in colourful splashy wildlife paintings, will exhibit new artwork which includes paintings, canvases and prints. Each piece is finished off with geometric details.

She discovered her unusual style by accident after tripping over her cat, Mr Bowjangles. She was carrying a teacup full of fuschia pink ink when she tripped, which went straight up in the air landing right in the middle of a painting she was working on. Without thinking Sarah threw the other cup in her hand, full of fresh water, over the ink and blew as hard as she could. The ink dispersed in a fascinating way, and the creative process began.

The open studio will take place on December 8 at 70a Main Street St Bees, from 10am to 4pm.

Cakes and mulled wine will be available.
