A woman has suffered a head injury in an assault in Whitehaven.
Police are investigating the incident that occurred yesterday at around 10pm in the area of Tangier Street.
A woman from Whitehaven, in her 40s, suffered a head injury during the assault.
She was taken to West Cumberland hospital and has since been discharged.
The suspect is described as a stocky man, around 5ft 5in in height with short ginger hair.
