A WHITEHAVEN woman has been ordered to pay more than £300 after she assaulted another woman and failed to surrender to custody.
Chantell McAvoy, 38, admitted a charge of assault by beating and one of failing to surrender to custody on November 28.
The assault took place on September 11, while the failing to surrender charge related to the day of the court appearance at Carlisle's magistrates' court.
McAvoy, of Fell View Avenue, was given a community order requiring her to attend appointments or any activity required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 10 days.
She must also complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
McAvoy must pay £100 in compensation, to pay a £90 victim surcharge, £85 in costs and a £40 fine.
