A pensioner has been warned to keep her dog under control or it will be destroyed.
Brenda Frances Parsons, 81, of South Parade, Seascale, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to having an out of control dog.
The court heard that on September 4, at Seascale, Parsons' black Belgium Collie dog, called Phoebe, injured a woman while out of control.
Magistrates said they were satisfied that the dog is not a danger to public and that this incident was a one off.
But unless the dog is kept under proper control it must be destroyed.
They added that a report showed the defendant is capable of caring for the dogs appropriately.
So a contingent destruction order was made to keep the dog under proper control.
Parsons was fined £80 and ordered to pay £40 compensation and a victim surcharge of £32, plus £85 costs.
