A MUCH-loved celebrity chef is on the run on Channel 4’s latest episodes of Celebrity Hunted – and the people of Whitehaven might want to keep their eyes peeled for him on their screens this week.

It’s no secret that Jean-Christophe Novelli is a fan of Whitehaven, having visited the food festival many times as well as working with Lakes College students, and people are keeping their fingers crossed that the TV chef will turn up in Whitehaven on Sunday’s episode.

The 58-year-old has teamed up with chef Aldo Zilli, and so far in their challenge to remain “at large” have travelled from London to the south coast, before heading to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge to keep his son Valentino’s appointment with a cancer specialist.

Novelli’s youngest son was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma at just six weeks old and was given the all-clear in April 2017, so taking part in Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up To Cancer is a cause close to the chef’s heart.

It wouldn’t come as a shock to West Cumbrian viewers to spot the French foodie in Whitehaven on Sunday’s episode, as Jean Christophe has previously said the town is one he loves to visit. “It’s a place where I want to be and I like to come back,” he said. “I have been everywhere in the world but there are places I love to go back to and those that I don’t – I won’t say which they are!”

To follow Jean and Aldo’s journey – and see if the pair pay a visit – Celebrity Hunted is on Channel 4 this Sunday (Nov 10) at 9pm.
