St Bees annual multi-charity sale will be especially poignant this year, following the death of one of its founders.

Charm Robson died earlier this year after starting the sale, based on Fairtrade goods over 40 years ago.

She went on to expand the sale to include other charities, raising thousands over the years for a host of good causes.

This year’s sale starts on Friday from 3-6pm at Old College Hall, St Bees Priory. It is also on Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11.30am to 1.30pm.

The charities supported include: Traidcraft, Oxfam, RNLI, British Legion, Hospice at Home, British Legion, Cats Protection, Rungwe Tanzanian Link, Amnesty Internationl and RSPB.

Refreshments will be available in New College Hall on Saturday, from 10.30am to 4pm, in aid of Hospice at Home and Sunday after church in aid of the Priory.

Artwork will also be on display and up for grabs with a percentage of the sales going to Hospice at Home.
