Whitehaven’s winter makeover has begun with 25,000 bulbs and flowers being planted across town.
Copeland Borough Council’s two rangers have started replacing the withering summer florals in planters across the town this week.
Tulips and polyanthus will be planted over the coming month, in town centre planters and flower beds. in areas surrounding the centre.
The floral display will also spread to St Nicholas’ Gardens with works being funded by Whitehaven Town Council in partnership with Copeland Borough Council.
The tulip bulbs will flower early next spring with the polyanthus flowering throughout the winter.
