A large Volunteering Fair is heading to Workington's Carnegie Theatre next month.

Cumbria CVS is inviting people to go along and find out more about volunteering in West Cumbria at the even on November 7, from 12-1.30pm.

Funded by The Cumberland, the fair will allow people to speak to over 18 organisations that are looking to recruit new volunteers.

Organisations will be on hand for people to meet informally to discuss volunteering including ones operating in the area of, disability, health, drugs and alcohol, bereavement support, conservation, gardening, care, advice work, carers, mental health, veterans, fundraising, retail, administration, children, driving, befriending, youth, trustees and lots more.

As the event will be held in Trustee’s Week organisations will also be showcasing a range of trustee or board member roles if individuals are looking for more strategic roles to utilising existing skills and knowledge.

Local organisations that will be attending include: Citizens Advice, Victim Support, People First Independent Advocacy, Cumbria CVS—Living with and Beyond Cancer, Impact Furniture Services, Alzheimer’s, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, Oxfam, Kirkgate Arts, Home To Work Ltd, British Heart Foundation Workington, Girlguiding,Howgill Family Centre, Cruse Bereavement Care Cumbria, Workington Town Council, Hospice at Home West Cumbria and National Youth Advocacy Service.
