A DRIVER has been banned from getting behind the wheel and fined after he drove with no insurance.

Gareth McAleavey, 39, of Greenbank Avenue, Whitehaven appeared before Carlisle’s magistrates’ court where he changed his original denial to a guilty plea.

He was charged with, that on June 14, he drove a Peugeot Partner van on the A595 at Parton with no insurance, and no insurance for the van.

McAleavey has been banned from driving for six-months, fined £300, and ordered to pay costs of £85 as well as a victim service of £30.
