If you would like to become a volunteer trustee then an information session by Cumbria Council for Voluntary Service may be right up your street.

Cumbria CVS is celebrating Trustees Week 2019 by organising a volunteer trustee information session on Thursday, November 7 from 4.30pm-6pm at Whitehaven Foyer.

The Get on Board session will look at what is a trustee, the roles and responsibilities, things all trustees need to know, organisations looking to recruit new trustees and how to become a volunteer trustee.

Judith Smale, county volunteer support officer for Cumbria CVS, said: “Trustees week is a great way to raise the profile of the amazing work trustees do and highlight the importance for recruiting new volunteer trustees to help strengthen the boards of trustees for many charities and community groups.

"Cumbria CVS has organised a volunteer trustee information session so anyone who would like to know more about being a volunteer trustee can find out more in a small and informal session.

"I would like to particular encourage individuals with professional or business skills such as finance, legal, law, HR, marketing, IT, digital or business planning to come along to find out about the wide range of trustee volunteering opportunities available and the benefits of volunteering.”
