A Seascale couple who manage a popular retirement park have been rewarded for their hard work.

Ralph and Hazel Jacklin have been presented with Exceptional Service Awards by Copeland MP Trudy Harrison when she paid a visit to Fell View Park in Gosforth.

The award is the highest honour given by British Holiday & Home Parks Association to park staff who have made "significant and substantial" contributions to their businesses.

Ralph and Hazel are responsible for the day-to-day running of Fell View Park, which is part of the family-run Berkeleyparks group of residential parks.

The couple have been with the company for over 25 years, and two of their sons also work with Berkeleyparks in the south of England.

At the award presentation, the couple were congratulated by Mrs Harrison and by David Curson, managing director of Berkeleyparks:

He said: "We rely heavily on our managers to help our residents enjoy their lifestyles, and to sustain the mutually supportive atmosphere which our parks provide.

"Ralph and Hazel are always prepared to go the extra mile to give whatever assistance is needed, and to make sure that the park offers a first-class living environment.

"We're very grateful that Trudy Harrison was able to take time out to congratulate the couple and give her good wishes to two highly valued members of our team."

Fell View Park has 85 privately-owned park homes in its landscaped grounds where people in or near retirement can enjoy peaceful and well-managed surroundings.
