Babies can scream and children can squawk and they won’t even be noticed as a bunch of family-friendly ghosts and ghouls take over the Theatre Royal in Workington this month.

Imagination Parties is running a Halloween show, Cookie’s Creepy Cabaret, in the theatre on Saturday.

Organiser Simone Hetherington said it will be a fun, lively event for all the family.

“There is heaps of interactivity. Children get to sing, call out, play games and answer questions. You can bring the baby along, too, because nobody minds if they call out or cry.”

There will be two performances at 11am and 3pm, with the morning performance deliberately undersold.

Simone said: “Everybody is welcome but we have undersold the stalls for the families of children with special needs. It gives them space and allows them to walk around during the show if needed.”

Simone Hetherington began entertaining children 10 years ago and began Imagination Parties five years ago.

“It’s been amazing. I am getting paid to have fun!”

She has around five colleagues at any one time including her son Taylor who joined the cast at 15, three years ago.

She said she can have six to eight bookings in a week.

Tickets for Cookie’s Creepy Cabaret are £5.50 each or £20 for four. To book, visit Imagination Parties’ website or Facebook page.
