Workington Amateur Operatic Society are looking forward to “Getting to Know You” at their upcoming show.
A cast of over 50 adult and junior stars will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I, and the team are rehearsing until they drop to “make this show absolutely unmissable”.
In October, Workington will see Jennifer Hawley-McGee, Jack Pike and Holly Harkness taking on the roles of Anna, King, and Tuptim, with Andrew McMinn and Gillian Rothery stepping into Lun Thai and Lady Thiang’s shoes for the show performances, running each evening from October 8 to 12.
The roles of Leo Leonowens will be alternated each show, seeing Jack Hawley, Cole Walker and Henry Voce perform, and Daniel Dixon and Jake Ivison also playing alternate shows as Prince Chulalongkorn.
And not forgetting the team behind the popular show, Tony McGee will be leading the Carnegie-based production, with the support of musical director Liz Condron and choreographer Natasha McKenzie.
Tickets for the show are available for £17 from the Carnegie Theatre website.
