Whitehaven Theatre Group present a reworked version of Willy Russell’s 1978 play about pre-wedding parties meeting up in a club this week.
The action in Stags And Hens takes place in the loos of a tacky Liverpool club, where the bride- and groom-to-be have decided, unbeknown to each other, to hold their stag and hen parties.
Both parties are out on the pull (except for the groom, who is throwing up after a curry, and the bride, who is having second thoughts after running into her old boyfriend).
Willy Russell’s “remix” of his original has quickened the pace, added new lines and a lot more swearing, but kept the raucous storyline and the period intact.
Expect lots of laughs with this latest show from Whitehaven Theatre Group, which runs at 7.30pm nightly from tonight (Wednesday) until Saturday.
Tickets are available from Rosehill Theatre box office – call 01946 692422.
