A woman has pleaded guilty to owning an out of control dog.

Jayne Buckley, 36, of South View, Seascale appeared before West Cumbria Magistrates Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to owning an Akita cross American Bulldog named Lexi which was dangerously out on control on Seascale seafront on May 22.

She also admitted two counts of owning a dog which worried livestock, first on agricultural land behind Seascale Fire Station on May 30 and again on June 1 on agricultural land at Seascale seafront.

The case has been adjourned until October 4 while evidence is gathered on her fitness to own animals and whether the dog should be destroyed. Buckley has been remanded on unconditional bail.
