Children at a primary school now have a designated reading space following the grand opening of a new library.

The facility at Moresby Primary School was officially opened by children’s author Lindsay Littleson.

The library is now housed in its own room, with new shelves and hundreds of new books. A borrowing system has also been put in place, which will be run by voluntary librarian, Jo Byers.

During the visit, author Lindsay worked with youngsters, sharing stories and talking about her life as a writer. Pupils are currently reading one of her books, The Mixed-Up Summer of Lily McLean. She also did a book signing at the end of the day.

Children were able to properly borrow books for the first time on Friday, and head teacher Ross Peacock said he was delighted that some had already finished their books over the weekend.
