Two Copeland animal boarding centres are celebrating good marks in a council ratings system.
Merryhill Cattery, at Rothersyke, Egremont, and Syke House Boarding Kennels, also in Egremont, were recently inspected under the newly-introduced animal activity licence.
Assessments cover the care given to the animals, hygiene and cleanliness, staffing levels, training, and health and safety.
Ratings must be publicly displayed.
Merryhill Cattery received a 'five' rating – the highest possible – following a thorough inspection by Copeland Council’s environmental health team.
And Syke House was not far behind with a 'four' rating.
