Amateur stage stars of Whitehaven are already hard at work on their 2020 production of iconic musical, Annie.

Whitehaven and District and Amateur Operatic Society will hold rehearsals for the production at the Marchon Club beginning on Friday, September 6. Anyone looking to get involved should be at the club from 7.30pm.

The society is encouraging new members to join,

Lynn Mctiffin of the amateur society said: “It’s a big family show,” and added: “We would be delighted to see some of our old members back with us and welcome any new local talent to come along and join us.”

Auditions for the major parts take place in October with dates to be announced in rehearsals.

They are also looking for a dog to play the role of Sandy, Annie’s faithful companion. The society would prefer a dog with sandy colouring and the owner must be willing to take the dog to some rehearsals in September and October. They should also be available all through show week from Saturday March 21 until the following Saturday.
