The timeless music of the Bee Gees is stayin’ alive thanks to a family-fronted tribute band which is set to visit Workington next month.

Like the real thing, Jive Talkin’ is a family affair.

Brothers Darren and Gary Simmons front the group, with Darren’s son Jack also part of the trio, and bring classic pop and disco hits like How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever and Tragedy to life with authentic vocals and visuals.

Backed by a four-piece band with lead guitar, violin, cello and drums, they transport their audience on a journey back to the 1960s and ’70s and the golden era of disco.

The group even linked up with the Bee Gees themselves to perform live on the radio (Maurice Gibb called them “absolutely brilliant”).

The iconic harmonies and catchy choruses which made the Bee Gees stars for decades are authentically recreated by Darren, Gary and Jack, who aim to stay as true as possible to the performances people will remember.

With more than 220 million records sold worldwide, the Bee Gees have one of the most distinctive, recognisable sounds in pop music and the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

The deaths of Maurice and Robin Gibb meant that fans could no longer catch a show by the famous original band, but Jive Talkin’ hope to be as close as you can get to a time machine back to the band’s heyday with an intimate show.

Tickets for the show on September 28 are £21 each, and can be booked for downstairs standing or balcony seating.
