A MAN in his early 20s has died after getting into difficulty during a swim in Ullswater.
His body was recovered by specialist divers near the area of Howtown Outdoor Centre at 10.45pm on Thursday.
Police say the man’s family has been informed.
Emergency services rushed to Howtown at around 5pm yesterday, following the report that two people who entered the water had got into difficulty.
A spokesman from Cumbria Police added: “An 18-year-old man was pulled from the water and taken to hospital.
“He has since been discharged from hospital.
“It is not believed that any other people are unaccounted for.”
