FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a blaze in Ulverston.
A fire crew were sent to Broughton Beck today following reports of a fire in the open.
They were said to have a found a stubble fire and spent 40 minutes extinguishing it.
It happened just before 2.30pm.
Firefighters used beaters and water backpacks to put out the blaze.
Stubble burning is intentionally setting fire to the straw stubble that remains after grains have been harvested.
