Facilities are running as normal at a Cumbrian holiday park after a fire in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesman for Hagans Leisure, which runs the Solway Holiday Village, confirmed that there was only "minor" damage done to a building on their Silloth holiday site.
"Due to the robust processes, procedures, the rapid response from our on-call team and the emergency services, the fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished," the spokesman said.
Five firefighting crews were mobilised to the Silloth holiday venue last night
Firefighters from Carlisle east and west stations, Silloth, Aspatria and Wigton - including a specialist aerial ladder platform fire engine - were all scrambled to tackle the blaze.
A spokesman for Carlisle east fire station said: "We had firefighters tackling the blaze both inside and outside the building - some went in with breathing apparatus, some took to the roof while others operated our aerial ladder platform.
"Thankfully, the building was empty at the time."
The spokesman for Hagans Leisure continued: "The emergency services remained on site for a few hours as precautionary measures and to carry out their general inspections.
"The cause of the fire was quickly identified to be an electrical component within an external neon light, located at the front gable of the main reception.
"The fire resulted in minor cosmetic damage to the exterior of the building. All park and facilities are running as normal and no further disruption is to be expected."
