A TEENAGER accused of sexually assaulting another young woman is to stand trial in front of a jury later this year.
Natalie Jade Hamilton, 19, faced one charge when she appeared at Carlisle Crown Court on Monday.
This alleges that Hamilton carried out a sexual assault on a female.
That charge arises out of an alleged incident which is said to have occurred in Penrith on January 19 last year.
During the short court hearing, Hamilton pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
Prosecutor Peter Barr outlined a timetable for the progression of the case.
Hamilton, of St Oswald's Avenue, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, is due to go on trial at the crown court on December 9.
It is estimated the trial will last around four days, and a pre-trial review hearing is set to take place on November 22.
In the meantime, Hamilton - who was represented by barrister Kim Whittlestone - was granted unconditional bail by Judge James Adkin.
