A Cumbrian holiday letting agency has been nominated for a prestigious industry award.

Sally’s Cottages, which is based in Keswick, has been shortlisted in the Best UK Cottage Holiday Company category in the 2019 British Travel Awards.

The winners will be determined by the public, who have until September 30 to cast their vote.

Companies will find out if they have won at the British Travel Awards Gala Awards Dinner, being held in London on November 27.

Sally’s Cottages was set up 15 years ago by Sally Fielding, who sub-let a property from a neighbour in Eskdale.

The agency now lets out over 500 cottages on behalf of individuals across the Lake District and the rest of Cumbria.

Sally said: "“We won gold at last year’s British Travel Awards and had won silver three years in a row before that, so the pressure’s really on!

"As the winners are chosen by the public, a win not only shows that we are continuing to provide excellent customer service, but proves that local businesses can flourish even alongside corporate-backed companies.

"I’m really excited to see the results!”

Last week, Sally's Cottages was also revealed as a nominee in the Rural Business Awards, which will be held later this year.

Sally said it had been a whirlwind 2019 for the firm.

Earlier this year, it was shortlisted for the Small Awards and the Northern Power Women Awards.

The firm also opened a new office in Windermere village and celebrated gaining over 600,000 followers on its Facebook page.
