A care worker has admitted defrauding three disabled clients out of almost £2,000.
Matthew James Hoodless, 39, of St Helens Avenue, Flimby, pleaded guilty to three charges of fraud by abuse of position when he appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Workington yesterday.
The court heard Hoodless, who had worked for West House since 2001, and was a senior care worker, had taken advantage of three disabled people he was caring for in Cleator Moor.
His victims required 24-hour care and did not have the capacity to control their own finances.
The court heard Hoodless had made a total gain of £1,918 over a 12-month period.
District Judge Gerald Chalk said the offences were too serious to be dealt with at the magistrates' court. He will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on August 5 for sentencing.
