A man has been charged following a serious assault in Whitehaven.
Thomas O’Fee, 23, of George Street, Whitehaven has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and is due to appear at Workington Magistrates Court tomorrow.
It follows an incident on College Street, Whitehaven, at 3.22am on Friday.
A 30-year-old man from West Yorkshire suffered serious head injuries.
He remains in the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, in a stable condition.
Two other men, aged 44 and 35, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
They have since been released with no further action being taken.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
