A WALKER was airlifted to hospital with leg and pelvic injuries after falling off a crag late last night (Saturday).

Volunteer mountain rescuers from Wasdale were called at 9pm to Penny Hill, Eskdale.

The team was called for a walker who'd taken a tumble off a crag and sustained leg and pelvic injuries. North West Ambulance Service paramedics were already on scene providing casualty care.

The team helped to move the casualty down the slope to where the Coastguard helicopter was waiting to take the person to hospital.
