A WARNING has been issued following the theft of dangerous drugs.

Police are appealing for information after the tablets were stolen from a postal package sent from a hospital.

Police said the package of 112 x 100mg Clozapine tablets were sent from the Westmorland General Hospital to an address in the area of Great Langdale on May 29.

The drug is an anti-psychotic medication. It is mainly used for schizophrenia.

"They are dangerous if taken without prescription and if anyone locates any tablets similar to the attached photograph they are asked to hand them in at the nearest hospital, pharmacy or police station as soon as possible," said a spokesman.
