Story Contracting has been shortlisted for three categories at this year’s prestigious Rail Partnership Awards.

The family-owned civil engineering company is in the running for Best Project of 2018 for its work at Edinburgh Waverley; Investing in People, for its Fit4Future campaign and Community Engagement for its work to remove the stigma of mental health

The company, which has its headquarters in Carlisle, said the nominations continued what has been an exceptional year for Story Contracting, with the business securing a five-year work bank worth up to £200m at the beginning of 2019.

Ian Purdham, Rail England managing director for Story Contracting, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for Story Contracting to be nominated for not one, but three awards at this year’s Rail Partnership Awards.

“Being shortlisted for these awards is testament to all of the tremendous work delivered by everybody in Team Story.

“We recognise that we are successful because of the skills, commitment and professionalism of our employees who define our uniqueness and ability to deliver the high level of service and quality we provide to the rail industry.

“Working closely with Network Rail, it is important we celebrate the good work that the industry does.”

The Rail Partnership awards, organised by Rail Media with Network Rail, celebrates the best of 2018’s achievements in the industry.

Winners will be announced later this month.
