A man who dishonestly received a trailer that had been stolen from United Utilities has found himself before magistrates.

Scott Joseph Kelly, 30, of Ennerdale Road, Cleator Moor, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Workington.

He pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving the stolen Ifor Williams trailer, worth £3,000, in his home town.

The court heard the incident, which he had previously denied, happened on May 9, 2017.

Magistrates ordered Kelly to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.

He must also pay £1,000 compensation, £400 costs and an £85 surcharge.
